I have a permanent profile. Since the APFT data will be pulled from eMILPO, how will the PPW know to recalculate scores for those with permanent profiles?
APFT scores for Soldiers with permanent profiles will need to be entered into eMILPO as the APFT score for promotion purposes. For example, if a Soldier scored 93 points on the push up event and 95 points on the sit up event, you would average the two scores to get an aerobic event score (94 points is the average). Add the three scores for a total of (282 points); this score will be entered into eMILPO.

The answer can be found in AR 600-8-19, Par 3-42b(1)a which states:
(1) Permanent profiles.
(a) Those Soldiers with permanent physical profiles for the sit-up and/or push-ups events will be granted 60 points for each event waived and use the actual score for each event taken and must qualify on the 2-mile run or approved
alternate test according to FM 21–20.
(b) Effective 1 April 1995, Soldiers taking an alternate event for the 2-mile run and receiving a passing score receive a score for that event equal to the average of the scores for the other two events.
Therefore the Soldier will receive 60 points for the push-up event and the average of the sit-up and push-up scores for the walk.

I have a soldier who is on a permanent profile, and can only do the sit up event and the alternate walk. how would they talley up his score?

Please be aware that if the SM is not promotable they will not get the average of the pu and su scores. The will only get the amount of points that they earned for the event they were able to do. They have to be able to do the run or an alternate event, or else they cannot be tested.

Promotion cut-off scores are based on how many Soldiers the Army needs for the rank and MOS in order to meet shortages. So if the Army needs to promote 34, 13Fs to SGT and the lowest score of the 34 promotable Soldiers on top of the list is 120 promotion points, then that is what the cut-off score will be. There is no telling what the cut-off score will be in the future. It can go up, stay the same, or go down.

What was the reason for some of the 13 series June 2011 cut-offs dropping so low and will they stay low or climb back up soon.

No timeline has been established. Therefore, I recommend you not wait and do it today if at all possible. You don’t want to be waiting for the last minute because next thing you know, you passed the deadline! Exceptions to Policies are no longer authorized for any reason. I highly suggest you get your records straight now. Keep in mind that points must be inputted by 8 June 2011 for 1 July 2011 promotions.

You do not have to reboard however I highly recommend you take an APFT soon and get your records updated. Please know that your S1 will have to reintegrate you in the PPW system in order to regain your profitable status.

I lost my promotable status because my APFT is older then a year if I take a PT test will I get my P status back or do I have to go to the board again?

As a promotions clerk, if you lose your promotion status because of a temporary profile other than combat related injuries and pregnancy, or negligence of your own reflecting your apft to be older than 12 months old YOU WILL HAVE TO BE REBOARDED!
