Can the alternate event bike course go out of my sight?

Our unit has a bike course for the alternate event test. I can't see the Soldier as he completes his lap while I am grading the test. I see him for about 1/2 of the lap. The rest of the time he is out of my line of sight. Is this acceptable?

No! FM 7-22 states:

The Soldiers being tested must be in view of the scorers at all times.
