Battlefield Deception Guide - From Alexander the Great to Norman Schwarzkopf

Specifics: I got out of the military with an honorable discharge and my re-entery code is 1. But close to getting out I was given an article 15 company grade for a hot UA. I went into the reserves afterwards and haven’t done anything wrong. There was a screw up with my reenlistment at the unit. Now I might have to go back to meps could a problem arise with a background check?

This response is provide based on the information you provided. You should not use this content as the sole source in making your decision. Seek guidance from your chain of command, JAG, IG., or other appropriate agency.  Do your own research. Then make an informed decision.

Usually, company grade a article 15 is filed at the unit and destroyed with the Soldier separates.  If you were an E-4 or below odds are it might not be in your records.  If you were an E-5 or above it could be in your official records.  Usually as long as you tell the truth Articles 15’s are not held against you for the sake of a security clearance. They tend to take into account the offense, and all circumstances pertaining to the offense prior to making a background determination.
