This response is provided based on the information you shared and should not be used as the sole source for making a decision. You should seek guidance from the chain of command, IG, JAG or other certified agencies before making any decisions. How you chose to use this information is totally up to you and is your sole responsibility.

A unit can establish their own standards that exceed Army standards but they cannot take action against a Soldier that fails to meet the unit standard but passes the Army standard. With that said the unit can require you to take corrective training and practice those events until you achieve the standard but this action must be reasonable and cannot be punishment. I would encourage you to read AR 600-8-2 as it applies to the application of flags. Then read AR 601-280 as it applies to bars to reenlistment. Then consider seeking guidance from the IG.

You cannot be forced to go to or pass Air Assault school, but they can identify negative attributes such as attitude and make comments on an evaluation report and possibly flag/bar you.

HOPE THIS HELPS

Respectfully,
