This SOP prescribes policies and procedures to implement a standardized weight control program within this Battalion IAW AR 600-9, “The Army Weight Control Program” .  The Army traditionally has fostered a military appearance that is neat and trim.  Self-discipline to maintain proper weight distribution and high standards of appearance are essential to every individual in the Army.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Ensure that all soldiers are able to meet the physical demands of their duties under combat conditions.
  • Ensure soldiers present a trim military appearance at all times.
  • Provide procedures, for which personnel are weighed, measured for body fat percentage, placed on a weight reduction program and receive counseling.
