I was a member of the Army res and was promoted to SGM and served 8 mos during enduring freedom. I was face with some unfair issues and was faulty accused and was given a article 15. After returning home I prepared to attend the SMC, which was the condition of my promotion, however the unit I was assigned to canceled my reserved seat. Then they gave me a discharge under over than Hon condition. however at the time didn’t reduce my rank, because I was told because it was not due to my fault the SMC was cancel. however now that I’ve submitted my retirement package, 19 yrs later I’m being told that because I didn’t complete course my retirement pay will be at the E-7 rank? I don’t think this is right but cant find AR that covers this type of issue. Can you help?

I can only think of two options. One is to contact your servicing JAG or contact a local attorney that deals with military cases.
