Not all resident courses can be entered onto the ERB and not all courses that can be entered onto the ERB count towards promotion points. The Military Transition Tream training for example can be entered onto the ERB, but does not count towards points. Only courses with course codes can be entered onto the ERB. Attached is a list of resident courses, the far right column of the eligibility list will tell you if they are valid for points or not.
To ensure you are looking at the correct course, please find your course on the Course Code List first, then check for promotion point eligibility on the Course Promotion Point Eligibility roster.

Yes it’s possible as long as the college is listed in eMILPO. If it’s not listed, your S1 will have to contact eMILPO and submit a trouble ticket in order to get the college added into the system.

I have completed some residential courses online on DAU but the completion date on some of them are the same since they were online, how can S1 enter this on my ERB since they have the same date of completion?

You have to talk to your BN schools NCO to find out the dates. From there talk to your Platoon SGT to get the recommendation to attend those classes. Here’s the catch, these classes have to be funded by your unit DIVISION not some company. The 82nd pays for unit armorer, bus driver, CBRN defense,and the very hard to get word processing classes. Each unit is different in what they pay people to teach the classes, usually civilians do the teaching and the Army is cutting down on the payrolls.
Also your unit has a red/green training calender that authorizes which schools people can attend because the unit is not 100% on these slots. For example Environmental Compliance is usually 2 slots per company, if anyone else wants to go they say no because they are 100% already. Units that are mission-oriented and spend A LOT of time in the field are the toughest on only sending people to school when they have to.
You can see where these problems can affect your career because you need those residence course points. Airborne, AA, Pathfinder, SF support, civil affairs, ranger, sapper tab are easier courses to get but much harder to graduate.

Hello I completed the 40-hour Battlefield first responder cours when I was in basic training, I was just course it that could go on my ERB or if its worth anything?

What pub are the courses worth 10 points listed in. I have taken and passed the CBRN Defense course and the Unit supply clerk course but my s-1 is only giving the 4 points per 40hrs. I just need the pub to bring in so i can get my additional points. Thsnks for the help.

It is only 4 points every 40 hour course. CBRN is usually a two week 80 hrs course thats worth 8 points. Tons of classes now to get promoted these days if your points are high.

Correction it is worth 10 points but most bases also offer a water down version of the course that is not 4 points.

MAAAAAN getting ATRRS slotted is all about who you know not about anything else. Their are plenty of slots for you to attend just about anything the problem is the unit has to pay you to go unless your TDY states that SM will be responsible for travel and not the Army including per diem. The person you need to talk to is your CSM, because the battalion commander signs all 4187’s permitting you to go to these schools. Especially Ranger School, since most commands require you to pass pre-ranger course before attending. Sapper school is only backlogged because they do not allow nearly as many people as Ranger but winter months are always open. You do not need to go through your schools NCO to find dates. Google which unit runs the tab schools. Ranger Ft Benning, Sapper Ft Leonard Wood, and SF Ft. Bragg. They will have a link taking you to the atrrs page with all the school dates/location/times/paperword needed and so on. DO NOT RETURN TO YOUR UNIT WITHOUT THE TAB!

I have a question about the promotion points system. In the enlisted promotion section, there is a section saying degree completion for civilian eduction. There are 10 points possible. My question is, do associate degree counts towards the points? Or it only counts when I get a bachelor degree? I have a associate degree but get no points for the civilian education now.
Also, On my Promotion points worksheet, Section C (Military Education), Part 2, it says that “Resident Military Training (ATRRS Courses; DA Form 87 limited to Soldier Training Courses in AR 350-1; Tab-producing courses) 78 Maximum Points”. I am confused that where can I take those courses in order to get points for that section? I think i got a max on Section C3 by taking courses on E-learning. Please let me know where I can take the Tab-producting course, and the DA form 87 soldier training courses in AR 350-1. I need those points for section C2.

Associate Degrees count, however, 10 promotion points are awarded to “any Soldier who completes a degree on active duty. If recommended for promotion to SSG, the Soldier must have completed the degree while in the grade of SGT to receive these points.” So, if you are a SPC and completed your degree while on active duty or a SGT and you completed your degree as a SGT, then you get the 10 points towards degree completion.
In regards to section C2, Tab-producing courses are Ranger, Sapper, and Special Forces training. ATRRS and courses listed in AR 350-1 are normally called Troop Schools. There are also courses in ATRRS that may be related to your MOS that you can attend. In order to enroll in any of these courses, you must go through your Training/S3 Schools NCO. I recommend you ask your NCO to see if he/she can obtain a list of schools available for enrollment and see if your training schedule will allow you to attend. You must note that not everyone may be given the opportunity to attend these schools due to a number of factors such as slots, quotas, time, and criteria for attendance.
The best thing to do is to go over your PPW with your NCO to see where you can obtain more points and come up with a plan for your progression.
