I was recommended for an ARCOM but it was downgraded to an AAM. What can I do?

This response is provided based on the information you shared and should not be used as the sole source for making a decision. You should seek guidance from the chain of command, IG, JAG or other certified agencies before making any decisions. How you chose to use this information is totally up to you and is your sole responsibility.

Under AR 600-8-2 you can appeal to the approval authority.  Odds of wining are slim but if you prepare a written statement based on facts, that is professional, unemotional, and calm and request to see the approving authority or speak with them via phone, if you are no longer in the unit, you might improve your chances.

Hope this helps to some degree.
