Can Leadership require me to use Facetime or drop a pin to show my location on my personal property?

The Board Master - Army Promotion Board Study Guide

This response is provided based on the information you shared and should not be used as the sole source for making a decision. You should seek guidance from the chain of command, IG, JAG or other certified agencies before making any decisions. How you chose to use this information is totally up to you and is your sole responsibility.

It usually is not legal for leaders to apply this type of problem solving as it requires the Soldier to use personal property that they are paying for and this is not legal.

Is this a battle you really want to fight? For example a Soldier that does not want to provide this information might receive the following attention from leadership:

  1. Leadership could randomly drive by the Soldier’s house and check to see if they are physically at the location.
  2. Leadership could call at random times and ask the Soldier if they are complying with the requirement.

List goes on.

Sometimes its better just to comply others you need to drawn a line and defend. Totally your call.
