Are Army Correspondence Courses still eligible for promotion points?

I have over 1,000 hours of Army Correspondence Courses. Will they still count under the new system?

The Board Master - Army Promotion Board Study Guide

Fortunately, they will still earn promotion points. However, you must complete the entire correspondence course and possess a certificate of completion in order to get the points. Sub-courses on their own will not count for promotion points. I suggest you take a look at your course history on the ATIA website to see how many full courses you have actually completed and determine how many points you will have under the new ststem.

The ATIA website’s address is www.adtdl.army.mil/.

    Jessica,

I am still trying to get an answer for you. Unfortunately I cannot open the website at all. I am currently TDY and using my laptop so I’m sure it’s my computer that is the problem.

    Walter,

You can use however many correspondence courses you need to max out that area. However, only full courses count.

My apologies for the very late response. If you have not been able to figure it out yet, try this:

        Registering for a Course:

        1. From the content test environment (CTE) homepage, log onto AKO:

        a. Click on Self Service, then click on My Education

        b. On the right side of the screen, click on Access the ALMS or click the ALMS logo

        c. Click the Catalog Search button.

        2. Enter the course title in the Search field then click Search Training Catalog or leave blank and click Search Training Catalog.

        3. Click the Register link next to the appropriate course in your search results.

        4. The Create Order page will appear, listing the various modules that make up the course. Click Next at the bottom of the item list.

        5. The Registration Confirmation page will appear. You should now be able to launch the course from your Enrollments page.

        6. For further assistance click the Help link at the top of the screen.

        Launching a Course

        1. From the CTE homepage, click the Current Enrollments button.

        2. Courses that you are enrolled in will be listed in order by registration date (by default). Find the course you need and click the Launch button. You will be directed to the Learning Assignments page, where the individual modules of the course will be listed, if applicable. The course will launch in a new window.

        Printing a Certificate of Completion

        1. Login into The Army Learning Management System (ALMS) with AKO username and password. https://www.lms.army.mil/Saba/Web/Main

        2. Click the Transcripts button.

        3. The My Transcript page will appear, with a list of recently completed courseware visible. If you need to narrow down the transcript results, use the Completion Date after and Completion Date before fields then click Search.

        4. Locate the course then click the Print Certificate of Completion link under the Completion Status column.

Note: The Print Certificate of Completion link will be active only if a Completion Status of Successful has been achieved.

What is the max for ACCP promotion points now?

    • Mackie

      avatar

      Eric,

The max points one can attain for military education which includes ACCP is 260 (1300 hours) for promotion to SGT and 280 (1400 hours) for promotion to SSG.

I started taking corresponadence courses in 1989 while in the National Guard. I went on active duty November 1993. I feel that there should be a grandfather clause. I went from being maxed to only halfway through. Someone should have educated junior enlisted on taking an entire series in the early 90s. My MOS is very hard to get promoted even with a degree.

      Roberta,

Like everything else in the Army, change is the only thing that is permanent. Unfortunately, most of the time there is no telling what will change which is the reason why no advice can be given years ago. However, news came out a year ago regarding this forthcoming change which should have somehow lit a bulb in every Soldier’s mind.

      Keep striving!

I have over 1200 hours of old correspondence courses completed with proof of hours but they do not show up on new system. is there a way to manually add the hours since they are completed and not partial subcourses?

      • Mackie

        avatar

        SGT Johnson,

Yes there is a way to manually input complete courses into eMILPO. Get with your S1, they should have access to the codes. If not, you can refer them to me.

        Hope this helps.

I can agree with Mackie on this. We have to be adaptive as Soldiers in the Army. I recall when we switched over to the Army Combat Uniform. I was one of the first one to go and purchase them. We must be adaptive to the SSD and the new credit system of the ACCP.
