Yes! IAW AR 600-8-10 paragraph 10–6. which states: Recalling Soldiers from leave The commander is the recall authority when Soldiers on authorized leave must return to duty for reasons of military necessity.
Under most circumstances it would not be appropriate to recall a Soldier from leave for an APFT. This should have been checked prior to the Soldier starting leave.
Did the commander conduct the recall or was this another leader threatening a recall?
There rules that should be followed when recalling a Soldier from leave (See the regulation and/or discuss with your S-1).
Recalling a Soldier from leave could incur the Army travel expenses and other charges. In addition if a Soldier is called in to work I don’t believe that day counts as leave…again consider checking with your S-1.
Bottom line you can be recalled from leave…by the Commander.
You must also decided if this is a battle you really want to fight?
Does it make sense to go in and take the test? Is it the right thing to do?
Or is this a battle you want to fight? If so get the regulations together, know them, check for local SOPs and know what they state as well
