Captains and Lieutenants and can use this manual as a reference when performing their job on a daily basis. Signal support is the collective, integrated, and synchronized use of information systems, services, and resources. It encompasses the following disciplines: communications, automation, visual information (VI), records management, and printing and publications. The Role of the Signal Officer: Inherent with the Signal Corps’ mission are command, supervisory, managerial, and technical leadership for the engineering, acquisition, design, programming, installation, operation, and maintenance of information systems in both fixed and mobile configurations.
