This regulation establishes Department of the Army policies, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures for the Army Reactor Program. The purpose of the ARP is to ensure that Army reactors are operated in a safe, secure, and reliable manner from activation through decommissioning. This regulation designates the Deputy Chief of Staff,  as the proponent for the ARP, and the U.S. Army Nuclear and Combating Weapons of Mass Destruction Agency as the focal point for the management of the ARP and the Army Reactor Office.
