This regulation provides the authority and sets forth the responsibilities to conduct and administer the Quality Assurance Specialist (Ammunition Surveillance) Program and the general qualifications and placement guidance for careerists in this program. It also establishes functions the QASAS performs in maintaining the Army’s readiness and warfighting capabilities; therefore, exempting them from private-sector performance. This regulation directs QASAS area and off post support responsibilities.
