Where does the requirement for the Magic Statement come from?
The “Magic Statement” or “Standard Derogatory Statement” is information that leaders include on derogatory counseling statements to notify Soldiers that their actions could result in separation from the Army. The requirement to include this information comes from AR 635-200. Specifically, chapter 17.
