How Long Does a Leader Have to Give a Soldier a Negative Counseling Statement?

There is no time limit on when a counseling should occur.  ATP 6-22.1 provides some guidance on the subject by stating the counseling should occur as close to the event as possible.

 

What are the time limitations for the completion of counseling?
