Why are Equipment Inspections important?

The Evaluator - Army Evaluation & Counseling Guide

TA-50 and other inspections are important for a variety of reasons including:

1. Is the equipment serviceable

2. Does the equipment fit properly

3. Is it clean

4. Allows the command to see if

      a.   Soldiers are caring for their equipment

      b.   Deficiencies can be indications of a larger problem

      c.   Can the Soldier function with little guidance

      d.   Can the Soldier follow instructions

5. Provides an inspector time to speak with a Soldier and find out what’s important to the Soldier.

Inspections can serve numerous proposes beyond just checking on the specified equipment.
