This regulation sets policy, responsibilities, and standards for implementation of the Army In-Transit Visibility capability. The ITV is a critical component of force visibility and asset visibility, providing commanders the information needed to conduct operations. The Department of Defense definition of ITV is the ability to track the identity, status, and location of DOD units, and nonunit cargo (excluding bulk petroleum, oils, and lubricants) and passengers; patients; and personal property from origin to consignee or destination across the range of military operations. This regulation proceeds from this definition.
