This regulation:

a. Prescribes the basic principles, objectives, policies, and responsibilities for provisioning Army systems and end items.
b. It provides guidance for:

(1) Planning, managing, executing, and evaluating provisioning programs within the framework of the acquisition process and integrated logistics support techniques.
(2) Acquiring and using provisioning technical documentation and engineering data for provisioning.
(3) Provisioning actions associated with the provisioning decision process—that is, selecting, coding, computing, cataloging, procuring and distributing of support items and spare and repair parts.
