This regulation implements the DOD and Department of the Army Personnel Security Program and takes precedence over all other departmental issuances affecting these programs. It contains the policies and procedures for access to classified information and assignment in a sensitive position. It also prescribes the investigative scope and adjudicative standards and criteria that are necessary prerequisites for such access or employment. It includes due process procedures for appealing adverse administrative actions rendered in accordance with the provisions of this regulation.
