This regulation prescribes policy for the use of liquid hydrocarbon fuels, lubricants, and associated products used by the Army in the research, development, procurement, operation, modification, testing, and evaluation of military and commercial equipment and materiel. This policy implements DODD 4140.25. The goals of DODD 4140.25 are to minimize the number of liquid hydrocarbon fuels, lubricants, and associated products required to operate equipment and materiel and to enhance fuel availability with the implementation of the Single Fuel Policy.
