My platoon sergeant asked me to send a copy of my LES to her personal email. When I asked her why she said for BAH. Which is odd because I am a reservist so BAH is irrelevant to me. Why am I being asked to do this?
Leadership is entitled to the information. Sending the information to a personal email address could be an issue as the LES contains Personal Identifying Information (PII) that is protected by the Privacy Act of 1974.
If the LES is sent by email it should be sent encrypted to the NCO’s military email. Or, given in person at the next reserve weekend or the next duty day for the active duty.
