Can I smoke E-cigaretters in federal buildings on a military installation?

Can you "smoke"electronic cigarettes in government buildings?

The Mentor - A Comprehensive Guide to Army Counseling and Leadership

Great question!

As E-cigaretters are the new rave I do not believe the federal government has made an overall ruling on this issue as of yet.  Usually local Commanders (Installations Commanders) will address new issues like this in policy letters.

While we have nothing in writing at this time it is our understanding the E-cigarettes will not be allowed in federal buildings.

I would encourage you to seek a policy determination at your local local IG and/or JAG office.

It simply means they will be treated as all other tobacco products. Typically this means they will not be allowed to be consumed within a military building.
