Class/briefing has 14 slide, some with notes that teaches creative problem solving. It asks the question, what helps to create the right mind-set for creative thinking? It suggests the following to try to answer the question as well as other ideas:
- Suspending judgment by creating a supportive environment for ideas to be shared. This may need to be away from the office or at least away from your desk. Bring an open mind to the process.
- Know yourself. If holding to your own ideas is a very precious commodity, creative thinking, particularly in a group context will be very difficult. Be aware that this may be an area requiring extraeffort on your part.
- Help to fuel the flow of ideas by valuing all ideas (withhold criticism) and encourage others through praise & patience.
