This regulation provides information on the mission and operation of the United Service Organizations, Inc.. It states the Army’s responsibilities and policies regarding the cooperation and service the USO provides to the Army. It also implements DODD 1330.12. The USO mission is to enhance the quality of life of the personnel within the U.S. Armed Forces military communities and to create a partnership between the U.S. military and civilian communities worldwide. Additionally, the USO educates and communicates with the American public about the military, its mission, and sacrifices. It is Department of the Army policy to make resources, other than direct expenditure of funds, available to the USO, to the maximum extent permitted by law and policy.
