Are Army Correspondence Courses still eligible for promotion points?

I have over 1,000 hours of Army Correspondence Courses. Will they still count under the new system?

Fortunately, they will still earn promotion points. However, you must complete the entire correspondence course and possess a certificate of completion in order to get the points. Sub-courses on their own will not count for promotion points. I suggest you take a look at your course history on the ATIA website to see how many full courses you have actually completed and determine how many points you will have under the new ststem.

The ATIA website’s address is www.adtdl.army.mil/.

I started taking corresponadence courses in 1989 while in the National Guard. I went on active duty November 1993. I feel that there should be a grandfather clause. I went from being maxed to only halfway through. Someone should have educated junior enlisted on taking an entire series in the early 90s. My MOS is very hard to get promoted even with a degree.

      Roberta,

Like everything else in the Army, change is the only thing that is permanent. Unfortunately, most of the time there is no telling what will change which is the reason why no advice can be given years ago. However, news came out a year ago regarding this forthcoming change which should have somehow lit a bulb in every Soldier’s mind.

      Keep striving!

I can agree with Mackie on this. We have to be adaptive as Soldiers in the Army. I recall when we switched over to the Army Combat Uniform. I was one of the first one to go and purchase them. We must be adaptive to the SSD and the new credit system of the ACCP.

        SGT Johnson,

Yes there is a way to manually input complete courses into eMILPO. Get with your S1, they should have access to the codes. If not, you can refer them to me.

        Hope this helps.

I have over 1200 hours of old correspondence courses completed with proof of hours but they do not show up on new system. is there a way to manually add the hours since they are completed and not partial subcourses?
