The 8th of the month is the last day points may be updated in order for points to be considered for the next month’s promotion selections. If the 8th falls on a weekend or holiday, you would either need to input on the last duty day prior to the 8th or work the weekend to input on the 8th. However, you should continually add entries to the ERB as the Soldier provides documentation. There is no “window” for updating the ERB.

I was told by my S1 that general points have to be submitted by the 8th but are not picked up until the 10th at midnight. I am trying to find the correct answer because I took a pt test on the 5th and the 8th feel on the weekend so my points werent put in yet but were updated to day on the 10th.

Lacey,
Points would have to be entered into eMILPO by the 8th in order to count towards next months promotion cut-off.

I just got my promotable status back after an injury and I am curious if I will be picked up this month if I submitted my points in on the 15th. I ask becuase of the new system since it is primarily automated.
Mackie
Andrew,
I hope you have already found the answer to your question and sincerely apologize for missing your question. Points and/or integration to the promotion list must occur by the 8th of the month in order to compete for the following months cut-off. So if you were integrated on 15 March, you would not be eligible for promotion till 1 May.

I have an ERB from 7MAR2012 with 403 points. But the awards, certs, college, schools, BRM, APFT and correspondance hours don’t add up to 403, they add up to 559, which is over cutoff.
How do I fix this to get picked up?
Mackie
When was the last time the ERB was updated? It is possible that the points just have not updated. In any case, it would be best to consult with you S1 immediately in order to rectify the situation. If there was a system error, you may be eligible for an Administrative Records Correction.

I’ve been continually turning in the same things that are on my ERB. Right now the ERB has everything correctly on it, which totals up to 559 pts. But the total is 503.
On the PPW however, it is missing things that ARE on the ERB, and has a total of 535.
Something isn’t talking to the other thing correctly it seems, and now I might get screwed out of march points (544) because of it.

my unit deployed and we are stationed in germany. we left to afghan on 8 july which is the last day to submit points. hrc site says points have to be entered into emilp on the 8th and if falls on the weekend then enter duty day before on come in on weekend and enter into emilpo. now, if points were entered into emilpo by the 8th and soldier is not on by name list for the following month can a arc packet be submitted to retroactively promote soldier?
Mackie
Sam,
If the Soldier makes cut-off and is not on the by-name list, I would recommend an Administrative Records Correction be submitted for consideration. I only hope that there is some proof, perhaps print outs to show that eMILPO was in fact updated on the 8th.
Hope this helps.

What do I do if my Promotable status has been dropped when i got to my new unit. I have my board proceeding, but the company is telling me i need a Memo, saying that i am in fact Promotable? What is this? What do I need to do?
Mac Arthur D. "Mackie" Ocampo
Armstrong,
Did the unit remove you from the promotion standing list or were you automatically removed by the system due to your APFT expiring? Your S1 should know that the board proceeding is the official document that certifies a Soldier went to the board and was recommended for promotion. In fact, HRC encourages Soldiers maintain a copy of their board proceedings for their personal records and submit a copy to their gaining unit when they PCS to a new duty station.
I don’t understand why your company is asking for a memo when the board proceeding is a memo in itself.
Have you talked to your S1 about this? If not, I highly recommend you do so that you can get down to the bottom of this.

Ok, thanks!

Shanika,
HRC does not update Soldiers’ points, they simply pull a report which shows how many points every Soldier in the Army has and determines a cut-off score for each MOS based on how many the Army needs to promoted in order to meet the strength of any given MOS and rank.
However many points you have on your PPW by the 8th of the month is the score that will be used for the following month’s promotion determination. For example, you have 500 points on the 8th of July, that score will be used to determine if you will be promoted or not on the 1st of August.
For future reference, documents that are submitted to the S1 on the 8th does not necessarily transfer over to the PPW the same day. The S1 simply updates eMILPO (personnel databse) and eMILPO does it’s own thing by transferring the points to the PPW. There is no set timeframe on how long it takes to transfer over but based on my experience, it take about 48-72 hours give or take a day.

I know that any points musst be submitted to S1 by the 8th to be considered for promotion but, when does HRC actually update points? I’m asking because I do Skillport and it automatically gets updated to my ppw without me going through my S1. So, if HRC updated my points on the 15th will I have to wait for July’s cutoff?
