This will vary depending on the specifics of the inspection. You should establish a list of questions to ask during the inspection. There should be two types of questions: some you will ask of all Soldiers, and some you can ask on a rotating basis.

Questions you might want to ask each Soldier

• If you were king/queen for a day what would you change in the unit?
• What is the dumbest thing we have done in the unit?
• What do you like about the unit?
• When was the last time you spoke to your squad leader on a one-on-one basis?
• When was the last time you were counseled in writing?
• Have you received mass corrective training recently?
• Are there any issues you need to discuss with me 166 Inspections?

Questions you might want to ask randomly

• Weapon-specific questions
• Chain of command questions
• Equipment-specific questions (Note: make sure you know the correct answer)
• Do you have any concerns about your living conditions?
• Basic survival questions
