Water Resources
USACE is responsible for the Inland Marine Transportation System (IMTS).  The IMTS includes more than 12,000 miles of waterways throughout the United States.  It is host to hundreds of dams, locks, hydroelectric sites, and other facilities.  It functions like an “inland marine highway” for barges and other boats.  There are a variety of occupations involved in the operations and maintenance of the navigation locks and dams throughout the IMTS.

We offer challenging career opportunities in these fields and more:
Lock & Dam Operators are responsible for operating navigation equipment and machinery that allow river traffic to pass safely through the lock, and maintaining required water levels.

Lock & Dam Equipment Mechanics are responsible for the repair of navigation lock and dam equipment and machinery and the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds and structures related to the operation of the locks and dams.

In addition to offering a challenging and rewarding work environment, we offer competitive salaries, training and outstanding benefits.
