ADRP 1-02 Operational Terms and Military Symbols

Company Command: The Bottom Line - Army Leadership Guide

ADRP 1-02 constitutes approved operational terminology and symbology for general use. It builds on the foundational doctrine established in ADP 1-02. ItĀ also provides a single standard for developing and depicting hand drawn and computergenerated military symbols for situation maps, overlays, and annotated aerial photographs for all types of military operations. It is the Army proponent publication for all military symbols and complies with MIL-STD 2525C. The symbology chapters of this ADRP focus primarily on military symbols applicable to Army land operations. When communicating instructions to subordinate units, commanders and staffs from company through corps level should use this publication as a dictionary of operational terms and military symbols.
